XAMPP triggered Kaspersky Anti-Virus

I was using XAMPP and a message popped up from Kaspersky saying that a threat was detected. I of course clicked on the alert and it ran through it's thing ultimately restarting my computer.

Now XAMPP won't work. MySQL will start but Apache will not.

I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling XAMPP but I have a feeling that whatever Kaspersky did is not going to let Apache back through without a fight.

Any advice?

Hi James,

Over the years I've seen very similar things happen and ultimately it comes down to false positives which in my eyes is a very common thing in Kaspersky and has yet to be resolved as I personally use ESET and have no issues with it, XAMPP in general however is perfectly safe to use so I would recommend during the install process you have all protection disabled and re-enable it once the install is complete and that should work.
